Why Me?
At Weighting For A Change, you will work with a qualified Nutritional Therapist. I am a member of The British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Healthcare Council (CNHC).
I have been overweight myself, I remember being confused by what was the best approach, the repeated yo-yo dieting. The slavery of calorie counting. Losing weight only to put it all back on again.
I was once a member of a weight loss franchise and I mentioned I was having a salad with avocado and walnuts and was told by the leaders that under no circumstances was I to eat avocado, nuts, or use coconut oil. I left that day already understanding that the brain needs fat to function and that eliminating or minimising fat from the diet can be dangerous. I now understand the mechanisms and physiology of weight loss. It is not just a matter of expending more calories than you consume. It is far more than that.
What Weighting For A Change does is inform clients about what healthy eating is, what a correct portion size is, what diets work and which ones do not work. We focus on all the macronutrients (Fat, Carbohydrate and Protein) explaining how and why each has an important role to play. We will give you recipes and a tailored plan. We also tweak what does not work for you and replace it with preferable options. Further down the line, we may recommend tests to give a clearer idea of what may be causing your symptoms.
We look at the links between poor sleep, lack of routine, hydration and stress and how they each contribute to weight gain.
I have studied behaviour change techniques and have a BA in Journalism and Psychology and an MSc in Psychology. I have extensive knowledge of counselling and have counselled in some challenging environments. I am passionate about helping you back to well-being, vitality and radiance.
I want to put a spring back in your step. Together we will rediscover your get-up-and-go. You will be given a delicious meal plan which we will devise together.

I work with people who are fed up with being stuck on the diet, weight gain, diet again treadmill. People who want a long-term solution and stop the yo-yo diets.
People turn to me when they want to be heard, listened to, and want to tell their stories. If you want an evidence-based strategy that is based on good nutrition and lifestyle improvements then give me a call.
I offer a complimentary 30-minute call called Step off the diet treadmill during which we explore your goals and your story.

Evidence-Based Practices
There is so much information out there. Headlines such as "New study reveals that chocolate is good for you" sells Magazines but they often do not explain what the study actually found which is quite different. A study might have found that the flavonoids in 70- 90% cocoa chocolate may be beneficial in a certain area of digestion. The public are bombarded with so many fad diets and potentially good diets. 5:2 diets, Intermittent fasting, cleansing, juice only diets and Ketogenic diets. This environment of endless information can be overwhelming and only adds to the confusion for many people. Is your inbox full of offers from all sorts of companies offering you the final solution for what seems to be a low price, but when you calculate it it adds up.
